November 26, 2011: Torrid Networks presented a talk on exploit packs during MalCon, a malware conference held on 26th November 2011 at Mumbai. MalCon is an international conference, inviting participation across the globe. Conference was scheduled to be inaugurated by Shri. Sachin Pilot, Hon.Minister of State in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, however due to last minute schedule conflict, he sent his recorded video that was played during the conference.
Shri. Alok Vijayant, Director, NTRO (National Technical Research Organization), Government of India kick-started the event citing the cyber security trends and government of India’s seriousness towards the increasing cyber attacks. NTRO is India’s sole Technical Intelligence (TECHINT) agency and develops technology capabilities in data gathering and processing, cyber security, cryptology systems, strategic hardware and software development and strategic monitoring.
Very first technical talk was presented by Director, Torrid Networks and a renowned cyber security expert, Dhruv Soi. Presentation was oriented towards automated exploitation frameworks, known as exploit kits or exploit packs. Presentation also included live demonstration on how hackers launch mass cyber attacks using these exploit packs.Event was attended by many government, defense and corporate organizations to make it a total participation of around 150-200.
Presentation ended up with question and answer round, where participants raised few questions those were well addressed by Torrid Networks. Presentation was liked by each and every participant. Torrid Networks aims to raise cyber security awareness amongst the government, industry and academia by presenting at such public security conferences.
